It’s Official - Small Business Grow Faster by Embracing Digital Technology!

We’ve been saying it for years, but now it’s official – a recent Microsoft Study has shown that Small Businesses grow faster with the right tech.

This is especially relevant as we reach the end of Small Business month in Canada, and we wanted to use this blog to feature some of the study’s main findings, supporting them with examples from our own experiences helping small businesses make the most of Microsoft Cloud technology.

Small and Medium sized businesses make up 99.9% of businesses worldwide but it’s fair to say that the tech sector has always been weighted more towards the needs of enterprise and big business. Too many solutions are prohibitively expensive, too feature heavy, and don’t sufficiently address the specific business and economic challenges facing small businesses.

Microsoft’s study, published in July 2022 and prepared for Microsoft by Analysys Mason, surveyed the tech decision makers of over 3000 small businesses worldwide, looking at technology adoption, technology solutions and partners, and business results over the last year.

The headline findings show just how important technology is to small businesses:

Growth is the number 1 priority for small businesses, and digital technology is a key driver of their growth.

Businesses who were classed as early adopters of technology saw higher rates of revenue growth and reported significantly higher rates of confidence in their future business success. Given the current uncertain economic climate, investing in technology is a harder decision from small businesses than ever before, but have you calculated the cost of not switching? The right technology has the potential to future-proof your business systems and Bam Boom Cloud offers fixed price, fixed scope implementations with no hidden costs.

Small biz tech budgets are growing, and so is the reliance on partner support.

Most small businesses don’t have in-house IT teams or experts to guide their decision making – they need external support to get it right. Over a third of small businesses work with Managed Service Providers or Cloud Solution Providers to make their technology decisions, underlining the importance of finding an IT partner who understands your specific business challenges. Bam Boom Cloud’s solutions are designed exclusively for small businesses, and Microsoft have recognized us four years in a row for our Business Central offering, so you can trust that we know what makes small businesses tick! Wherever you are on your CSR/ESG journey, there is no question that technology an essential part of the solution. For example, moving to Cloud-based technology has numerous business and environmental benefits. Microsoft’s small business study showed correlation between businesses with a focused on environmental goals and businesses that achieve their objectives.
